DRAYTON TRV4 A-RATED FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY
The iconic Drayton TRV4 has received an A-rating for energy efficiency under a new labeling scheme for Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs).
The rating is based on how quickly a TRV reacts to changes in room temperature, how effectively it maintains stable room temperatures and how it performs after changes in water temperature and system pressure.
Drayton’s TRV4 achieved the highest energy efficiency rating, thanks to its ultra-sensitive liquid-filled chrome head, which reacts swiftly to temperature changes to minimise energy use.
Under the new European classification scheme, TRVs can receive a rating of A – F, with A being the most energy efficient and F the least efficient. The labeling scheme is similar to the energy efficiency ratings used on many domestic appliances and other consumer goods, already well-recognised by homeowners.
Compact and stylish in design, the TRV4 has hygienic wipe-clean surfaces with no slots to collect dust and grime. Half and full click-stop settings are particularly useful for the partially sighted, while non-stick plastic internals and replaceable parts make the TRV4 a “TRV for Life”, with a gland seal replacement not requiring a time-consuming system drain down.
David Kempster, Product Manager for Drayton, said: “The TRV4 receiving an A-rating further establishes Drayton’s position as market leader, driving standards in the marketplace and embracing new developments to improve consumer confidence.
“The label provides independent evidence that the TRV4 will contribute to the energy efficiency of a heating system and is a great selling point with homeowners, many of whom are looking for new ways to reduce their home energy use and fuel bills.
“Our premium TRV4 is a great upsell product for installers, with A-rated energy efficiency now added to a list of popular features including stylish design, an all-chrome option and highly responsive temperature control.”
Energy efficiency labeling is voluntary for TRV manufacturers and any valve that fulfills the basic requirements of European Standard EN 215 for TRVs can be submitted to TELL (the product classification system of the European TRV industry) for an energy rating. The TRV4 is available in white/chrome and all-chrome.
