FASTER UFH INSTALLATION WITH NEW DRAYTON TS+
Heating controls specialist Drayton has added a new TS+ thermal actuator to its range of under-floor heating products that helps to reduce system installation and commissioning time.
Stylish and compact, the TS+ has a high splash-proof rating of IP54. This means the actuator can be mounted in any position including upside down, so it’s ideal for awkward installations. It also protects the actuator from its humid and high-temperature environment for long-term reliability.
The TS+ is easy to commission and service, thanks to a unique manual feature, which allows the valves to be opened and closed by hand, with no need for additional tools. This makes it easier to mount the actuator on the manifold and allows installers to test and commission the system more quickly. It can also provide emergency heat, if the thermostat fails.
The TS+ cap also features a window displaying the valve position and operating state to simplify fault finding for installers.
Simple to install and with no need for an additional adaptor, the TS+ comes with a standard M30 x 1.5mm connection, making it suitable for virtually all valves and manifolds.
The TS+ is also extremely responsive thanks to its short opening and closing times, which helps to maintain a comfortable temperature and reduce energy consumption. The actuator opens the valve when an electrical signal is received from the room temperature controller and automatically closes it when the signal ceases.

The TS+ measures 74mm in its closed position, so it’s ideal for modern under-floor heating systems, which are more compact with smaller manifolds.
The new thermal actuator can be used with heating, cooling or ventilation systems and is suitable for use in combination with a selection of controls from Drayton, including the Instat+ 868-r wireless programmable room thermostat or the INSTAT 868-a8U 8-channel wireless receiver (available in 24 and 230 V).
