REDUCE BRITISH SUMMER TIME CALLBACKS WITH DRAYTON REAL TIME CLOCKS
When British Summer Time begins at the end of March, installers often receive calls from householders who are confused about adjusting the clock on their timers and programmers. The cost and hassle of these callbacks can be avoided, with the real time clocks in Drayton’s LP programmers and Digistat+ room thermostat range.
The real time clock automatically changes when the clocks go forward or back, so there’s no need for manual summer/winter time adjustment. This advanced feature makes life easier for homeowners and is a good upsell feature.
The automatic time change comes as standard on all LP electronic programmers, which feature on/once/timed/off switching options and up to three timing periods per day, from common 24 hour timings to separate 5 day/ 2 day programmes. Each programmer in the range also offers a new boost feature, which allows users to temporarily run their heating or hot water programmes for longer.
Drayton’s popular Digistat+ range, which incorporates wireless and programmable room thermostats, also features real time clocks. Users have a choice of up to 6 time/temperature events per day and the thermostats are extremely easy to install, use and programme.
Simon May, Product Manager for Drayton Controls, said: “When the clocks go forward an hour, many householders suddenly realise that their heating is coming on too late, which is when they callout their heating installer. This can be avoided by fitting controls with a real time clock that will automatically adjust and ensuring that homeowners understand this functionality from the outset, saving installers the inconvenience of seasonal callbacks.”
