Homes with inadequate central heating are going to feel the chill this week as arctic weather conditions rage in from Scandanavia.
Homeowners without heating controls may be tempted leave all of their radiators on throughout the day, heating areas that are un-occupied and adding unnecessarily to their fuel bill.
For most parts of the country, temperatures are going to struggle to creep above 4˚C, with the significant snow that is forecast to fall representing the earliest in the year since 1993.
According to the Met Office, Scotland and the North East of England can expect up to 20cm of snow this week, with the wintery conditions expected to spread further south in the coming days.
As the Met Office issues weather warnings to the most severely hit areas, households that have the appropriate heating controls in place will certainly be feeling the benefit.
