SPOTLIGHT ON... COMMERCIAL LOCKSHIELDS
Drayton commercial lockshields have been specially strengthened for use in contract applications and are manually adjustable with a simple Allen key.
Supplied with iron-pipe fittings in imperial sizes, the range includes straight and angled lockshields in 1/2” and 3/8” models that are CEN 215 approved. To stand up to the rigours of commercial use, the range has been strengthened using more brass in the manufacturing process.
The commercial lockshields match the finish on existing Drayton EB and ECD valve bodies and can be installed along with any Drayton TRV to provide a complete radiator controls solution.
A key component in helping to balance a heating system; lockshield valves allow the flow through a radiator to be regulated depending on its proximity to the pump, ensuring that the heat of all radiators remains consistent.
An additional benefit of installing a lockshield, particularly within a commercial application, is that it allows a radiator to be isolated from the rest of the system for maintenance and repair. Across large-scale office buildings, where call outs are relatively regular, being able to individually repair a radiator quickly and efficiently saves time for heating engineers while minimising disruption.
