SPOTLIGHT ON... FROST PROTECTION KIT WITH RTS3
Installers can help customers to protect their heating systems from winter frosts with Drayton's Frost Protection Kit.
Burst pipes and boiler breakdowns are now a real worry for many householders, after record snowfall and freezing tempertures during recent winters.
The Frost Protection Kit includes an RTS3 Frost Thermostat and a PTS1 Pipe Thermostat, offering automatic frost protection, preventing boilers and exposed parts of heating systems situated in garages, outbuildings or conservatories from freezing in the winter months.
Mounted in the same space as the boiler or the most at risk part of the system, the RTS3 Frost Thermostat is used in conjunction with the PTS1 Pipe Thermostat to provide two stage frost protection and operates separately to all other home thermostats and timers. This ensures that the boiler is automatically switched on when the temperature drops to a dangerous level and runs until the system water temperature has been sufficiently raised.
Part of the Drayton RTS range of room thermostats, the RTS3 features a temperature range of 3ºC to 10ºC, set point locking and is double insulated for added reliability.
Suitable for high or low limit applications and featuring a temperature setting range from 20ºC to 90ºC, the PTS1 is fixed on the boiler return pipe to prevent over heating.
