PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT – REDUCE RISK OF UNSERVICED BOILERS WITH DRAYTON LPSI
Research from Gas Safe Register found that over 40% of pensioners in the north east of England were risking their lives using old gas appliances that haven’t been serviced.
Many of the pensioners questioned had not serviced their gas boilers, cookers and fires for almost a decade, increasing the risk of potentially fatal carbon monoxide leaks. Plus, only 6% of over 75s knew the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.

To help ensure that gas boilers are regularly serviced, Drayton’s advanced LPSi electronic programmers feature a service interrupter that alerts householders when a boiler service is due. For thirty days prior to the service due date, the backlit LPSi display flashes and the due date is shown to provide a visual warning. If the boiler is not serviced, the LPSi will sound an audible alarm and reduce comfort levels in the property to a safe but uncomfortable level, further encouraging the householder to contact an engineer to check their heating system.
This service alert function also helps private and social housing landlords, who are legally required to service boilers in order to comply with Regulation 36 of the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998.
Easy to install and use, the LPSi programmers come with automatic summer/winter time change, a memory saver function in the event of power loss and a new boost function as standard, which allows users to temporarily run the heating or hot water programmes for an additional one, two or three hours.
The LPSi range includes programmers with separate 24-hour, 5 day/2 day or 7 day timing periods for heating and hot water.
