FROST PROTECTION THIS WINTER

Frost Protection this winterSetting your room thermostat to 7˚C and setting your time control to constant On, means that if the temperature inside your house falls below that, the thermostat will start the boiler and safeguard the fabric of the property, protecting pipes and stopping the house from getting too cold. All Drayton programmable thermostats offer frost protection at around 7˚C.

In areas where there is extreme cold, frost protection kits are available. Mounted in the same space as the boiler or the most at risk part of the system, a frost thermostat is used in conjunction with a pipe thermostat to provide two-stage frost protection, operating separately to all other home thermostats and timers. This ensures that the boiler is automatically switched on when the temperature drops to a dangerous level and runs until the system water temperature has been sufficiently raised.
